Taking the Time.

Taking time and listening to yourself is important.

Taking time for ourselves and listening to our needs is essential. Meeting with a psychologist, wether for exchanging thoughts and ideas or to address long term difficulties is a normal process which can help anyone through different periods of life (adolescence, relation ship problems, professional growth, grief, burn out…).

Our well being is highly impacted by the state of our mental health. Suffering on a daily basis, can have many consequences. The understanding of our emotional processes and of the patterns guiding our interactions can help maintain a balance, leading to personal growth and fulfilment.

When under a lot of stress, and with a busy schedule, it can be hard to take the time to slow down and to take a step back on the events of everyday life.

A psychologist can help to promote self-awareness and to develop new skills to cope with difficulties encountered through life, with the use of different psychotherapies and therapeutic tools adapted to your needs.

Psychotherapies

When to consult a psychologist ?

Dealing with stress and low self-esteem.

Finding a balance between personal and professional fulfilment can be quite a challenge. The stress generated by the constant reassessment of one’s ability, the fear of not “being enough” or perfectionism can become overwhelming, leading to a feeling of anxiety and exhaustion, hurting both self-confidence and the ability to cope with stress. Seing a psychotherapist can guide you towards a better understanding of stress mechanisms and foster gentler personal appreciation.

Expatriation: taking care of your mental health while living abroad.

Choosing to move abroad is big decision, simultaneously exciting and nerve-wracking. Having to evolve in a new environment and culture can be disorientating. A psychologist can help you find a new balance to enjoy this experience at its fullest, but also to support you through harder times, especially when away from your family and friends.

Overcoming depressive symptoms.

Many people go through difficult times and feel low and irritable… Those feelings can sometime become really straining, affecting every other areas of life (work, relationship…). The severity of this distress can lead to a feeling of loneliness and vulnerability. A psychotherapist can provide support and help to alleviate the pain induced by the sadness and invasive dark thoughts.

Surpassing anxiety.

In the face of anxious thoughts and ruminations, day to day life can seem insurmountable. The emotional distress experienced either during specific situations (social interactions, public speaking…) or in more general settings (vague feeling of anxiety independently of the context) can trigger a feeling of apprehension and stress. Psychological consultations can help to foster new strategies in order to better understand and cope with your anxiety, whether it expresses itself through panic attacks, phobia, social anxiety…

How to live through a suicidal crisis ?

During very stressful events, many people can develop suicidal thoughts, during adolescence or adulthood. The risk of dangerous behaviours such as scarifications, self-harm or suicide attempts can rise, especially when feeling alone and disconnected from the rest of the world. If you’re currently going through a crisis, do not stay alone ! A psychologist can offer support in a safe space to help you reconnect with yourself.
